How de-identification works
Before observations are used for research, identifying details are removed.
We do not sell this data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with insurance companies.
These commitments are reflected in our Terms of Service.
Ethics
Who can access research data
Researchers apply through a review process. Access is purpose-limited and never includes individual household records.
Ethics
Rights of the person being observed
The person being documented has rights, even if they cannot exercise them directly.
Ethics
If ownership ever changes
If The Data Adapter or Translate Silence is acquired, merged, or materially changes ownership, contributor protections still apply.
